Movies Coming This August 2022
After a very long July, it’s August and with the new month comes a new selection of movies coming to theaters and on streamers like Netflix and Disney Plus. These are movies coming this August.
Bullet Train

Starring Brad Pitt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Sandra Bullock, Michael Shannon, and Bad Bunny, Bullet Train is an Action Thriller that sees 5 assassins in a bullet train with a mission that has something in common. The movie is directed by David Leitch who also directed some great action movies like Deadpool 2, The John Wick Movies, Nobody (My review here), and Hobbs & Shaw so you can expect an action-packed movie with some great camera work.
The movie is currently sitting at 58% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 94 reviews and that means it’s rotten but I believe critics are wrong sometimes so it’s definitely a must watch especially with such a top tier cast and director at the helm. Bullet Train Comes to theatres on the 5th of August 2022.
Prey

The Fifth installment in the Predator franchise from Jim Thomas and John Thomas comes in the form of a prequel to the first four movies and set in the 1700s. Naru, A fierce and highly skilled warrior learns the prey she is stalking is a highly evolved alien with an advanced arsenal.
The movie stars Amber Midthunder from FX’s Legion and The CW’s The Originals and an a cast that’s not super A-list but I think the highlight of this movie will be it’s storyline more than anything else, I do want to see it when it comes out on Hulu on the 5th of August 2022.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back and they return on Netflix. This movie will continue off where the animated series left of and will see Leonardo as he is forced to lead his brothers to save the world from the alien race known as the Krang.
The movie is set to bring back all the original leading voice actors and the supporting actors from the series. This includes Ben Schwartz, Omar Benson Miller, Brendon Mychal Smith, Josh Brener, Eric Bauza, Haley Joel Osment, and many more. The movie is set to stream on Netflix on the 5th of August.
Fall
Best Friends Becky and Hunter find themselves at the top of a 2,000 foot radio tower (0,3787879 Miles for the normal people). The movie looks like a person afraid of heights’ worst fear and just by the trailer alone I can tell you this will be a very thrilling and on the edge of your seat movie.
The trailer also featured The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan who stars alongside lead actress Grace Caroline Currey (From Shazam!) and Virginia Gardner (From 2018s Halloween). The movie is directed and co-written by Scott Mann who directed 2015s Heist which starred Robert De Niro. Fall comes to theatres on the 12th of August 2022.
Day Shift

Another movie coming on the 12th of August is Netflix’s Jamie Foxx-led vampire hunting movie. This movie sees Jamie Foxx as a Vampire Hunter who has a week to raise cash to pay for his kid’s tuition and braces which is… Okay. The movie looks very action-packed and is one of Netflix’s big-budget production so you can expect it to be very well polished.
The film also stars Snoop Dogg, Dave Franco, and Scott Adkins and is directed by first-time director J.J Perry. The movie comes to Netflix on the 12th of August.
Breaking

Desperate for money and running out of options, Marine veteran Brian Brown-Easley holds people hostage inside a bank, setting the stage for a tense confrontation with the police. Starring John Boyega, this movie is based on the true story of a former marine corps veteran Brian Brown-Easley who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank with a bomb threat in 2017 due to his financial problems and their effect on his daughter and possible homelessness.
The film has a great cast with John Boyega playing the former Marine Corps Veteran and with the late great Michael K. Williams and more. The trailer alone had me hyped for this movie, John’s performance looks like something we haven’t seen from the 30 year old actor and it looks to be telling a very heartfelt story, I hope I get a chance to check this one out. Breaking comes out on the 26th of August 2022.
Me Time
We’ve gotten Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson a lot and then Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson (The Man From Toronto) now it’s time for some Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg in this Comedy movie. After finally getting some time for himself for the first time in a long time, this Dad takes this chance to reconnect with his friend for a wild weekend while his Kids and wife are away, leading to them finding themselves in a life-threatening situation.
The movie stars Kevin Hart And Mark Wahlberg, Regina Hall and Jimmy O. Yang and promises to be a very funny movie for people looking for a comedy to watch this month. The movie comes to Netflix on the 26th of August 2022.
These may not be all the movies that are coming out this month but they are definitely the movies that caught my attention, now let’s hear from you, which movie are you excited to see this month and why? Let’s talk down in the comments
