Cowboy Bebop Cancelled, Shang-Chi 2 in the works And More News

This week did not have a lot of announcements but it did have a couple of good ones so let’s look at this weeks new’s, first looks, movie trailers and some teasers.

Before we continue I must let you know that this isn’t every single thing that happened this week but just a collection of Hollywood news updates that I liked throughout the week, you can check out other similar posts here.

Cowboy Bebop Cancelled

Cowboy Bebop Cancelling News

With less than a month after it’s release, Netflix has cancelled Cowboy Bebop. The live action remake of the classic 1998 anime of the same name staring John Cho recently premiered on Netflix and was met with mixed reactions from both fans and critics which may be one of the reasons it could have been cancelled by the streaming giant.

Many viewers (myself included) were hoping it would get better after the first season because it had potential to be better and could stand on it’s own without comparison to the anime it tries to remake.

With a One Piece live action in the works, this leaves me wondering if Netflix will actually do the same to that live action if it gets negative or mixed reviews from fans and critics. Do you think Netflix should have given the series a chance?

Shang-Chi Sequel in the Works

The series is rumored to be a comedy series almost like the movie according to the guys at Comicbook.com which I personally don’t mind as the movie was pretty funny so I trust Destin. What Did you think about Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings?

Charlie Cox Is The MCU’s Daredevil

It is now official, Charlie Cox will be back to put on the Daredevil cowl in the MCU future and possibly near future in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Charlie Cox has been denying his return as Daredevil for the longest time but the man himself Kevin Feige officially confirmed Cox’s return as Daredevil in the future on Cinemablend on Sunday.

How will the character return is yet to be know but many fans (myself included) suggest that Daredevil will return in either a soft reboot or in the upcoming Marvel Disney+ series “Echo”. Read my article of the Reboot rumors being confirmed here.

The Boys Animated Anthology series

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YE5txxcGMfU

The Boys: Diabolical is an animated series currently in the works for Amazon Prime video. The series will be an 8 episode anthology series that will see stories written by Awkwafina, Justin Roiland, Andy Samberg and many more, the animated series was announced by The Boys’s Karl Urban during Amazon Prime Video’s Comic-Con Experience 2021 virtual panels.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will also be writers with Eric Kripke set to be executive producer. Kripke describes the show as having 8 “completely unexpected, funny, shocking, gory, moist, emotional episodes” which is what most people love about The Boys series, I love anthology series so this is good news for me. Read more about the series here.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer cast continues to grow

Christopher Nolan’s next movie Oppenheimer has added Florence Pugh, Rami Male and Benny Safdie to it’s already huge Cast. The movie that’s described as “An epic thriller that thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it.” already has Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr and Matt Damon in it’s very expensive cast list.

The movie will be the first movie to be produced and distributed by Universal Pictures after Nolan’s split with Warner Bros and has a release date of July 21st, 2023. I just can’t wait to see this because it’s looking like it’ll be huge.

Trailers & Teasers

This weeks saw a lot of great movie and series trailers released so let’s look at those

Halo Live Action Trailer

We got a first look trailer for Paramount+’s Halo Live Action series set to come in 2022 and it looks really really amazing, I’ve never played any of the games which is good because this series won’t be linked to the video games.

Cobra Kai Season 4 trailer

We got a trailer for Netflix’s Cobra Kai and I have nothing to say, I never watched the series so hey nice trailer I guess. Series returns on 31st of December.

The Now Trailer

We got a trailer for The Now, a Roku original series starring Dave Franco, Daryl Hannah, O’Shea Jackson Jr and Bill Murray, the series looks like it’s pretty funny and will be streaming for free on Roku right now

A Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore Teaser

We got a teaser for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore movie ahead of the trailer that will come on Monday. The movie comes out on the 8th of April 2022.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Trailer

A new Sonic 2 trailer was released this week and it shows us a lot and also gives us our first look and listen to Idris Elba as Knuckle and I must say, I love it. The movie also comes out on the 8th of April 2022.

The Matrix Resurrections Movie Clip

We got a movie clip for the upcoming Matrix movie during the game awards and the trailer gives us a better look at Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Morpheus while making Neo a boomer, is it okay to say that?

FireBite Trailer

We got a trailer for Firebite which is an AMC+ Original series that follows 2 indigenous Australian hunters on their quest to battle the last colony of vampires and honestly it looks pretty bangin and with AMC+ having a $1.99 per month special running, seems like a good reason to check out the streaming service.

Operation Fortune Trailer

Operation Fortune is the new Guy Ritchie action movie starring Jason Statham that just by the trailer alone I love. Elite spy Orson Fortune must track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology wielded by billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds. The movie comes out on the 21st of January, 2022.

A Macgruber Series Trailer

We got a Macgruber trailer from the guys at Peacock and I must say “HUH? Still gon watch tho”

Conclusion

The biggest shocker of this week has to be the news of Cowboy Bebop being cancelled after just one season but that was sort of to be expected, hopefully Netflix reverses their decision on that. The Shang Chi sequel in the works at Disney Plus is also interesting news of this week, what do you think about a sequel to one of this years most successful movies?

Let’s talk in the comments bellow or just on twitter because I am always active there, maybe a little active, bye.
