All What If…? Episodes Ranked From Best To Worst

Marvel Studio’s What If series has surprisingly been my favorite Marvel series so far because of the vast stories it was able to tell. In this post I would like to rank all of the What If…? episodes from the best to the worst so without wasting any time let us begin.

1. Episode 8: What If…Ultron Won?

Not only did Episode 8 show us how huge of a danger Ultron could’ve become if the events of the Age Of Ultron movie did not happen but it also gave us one of the greatest villains in the MCU, in my opinion.

Although Ultron himself was not voiced by the Mr Spader, the voice acting was actually good so shout out to Ross Marquand. Other things I liked from this episode were the action sequences, Ultron’s great new design and that conversation between Doctor Strange and The Watcher for some reason I really liked that scene.

2. Episode 2: What If… T’Challa Became A Star-Lord

What If

One of the most heart-warming episodes in the entire season, episode 2 gives us Chadwick Boseman as the Star-Lord that feels like we were robbed of and oh my god do i wish we could see more of this character past the What If episodes.

Chadwicks voice acting is great and this being the last time we’ll hear him just forces you to almost tear up by the end of the episode. In this episodes I also liked looking at how T’Challa Star-Lord is the complete opposite of Peter Quill Star-Lord which I thought was pretty fun to watch and the Heist sequence was pretty cool and funny.

3. Episode 4: What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead Of His Hands?

Doctor Strange is one of my favorite characters in the MCU and this episode gave me a different version of Strange that I absolutely loved, this episode showed how strong Doctor Strange is and how with the right motivation he can be stronger than he is now.

This episode is my 3rd favourite because of how broken we see Strange is by the end and how he goes from being ignorant to being very very desperate. The voice acting was also good, Benedict gave a preety great perfomance actually but the emotional states Doctor Strange goes through in this episode is the real reason I loved this episode.

4. Episode 9: What If… The Watcher Broke His Oath?

An episode that gave us a great team of heroes with the perfect combination of everything that makes a perfect superhero team (sort of) , this episode was actually one of the funniest episodes of this season mostly because of Thor and every single piece of Dialogue that came out of his mouth.

The episode also gave us one of the best action sequences of this season, it futher showed the strength of Ultron and also showed us how much of a power hungry villain Killmonger actually is. The Guardians of The Multiverse are a truly great team that felt like, given more time, could’ve become a better team than the Avengers. Also VIVA LAS VEGAS, that is all.

5. Episode 6: What If… Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark

Killmonger for me wasn’t really a favourite character of mine in Black Panther, I felt like the character could’ve been a lot more powerful and this episode showed me that I was right, Killmonger is definitely a strong and extremely calculated villain.

The episode itself is not the best in the series but it really does show us how great of a character Killmonger is and how we missed all of that in Black Panther, also Michael B. Jordan gave great voice acting and the back stabbing was fun to watch.

6.Episode 5: What If… Zombies?!

The most wholesome story in this season come in the form of a Zombie story. Episode 5 gave us an episode that’s actually very interesting to watch and has some great humour like Happy Hogan’s Zombie still saying Blam Blam when he shoots or just Bruce Banner’s reaction to everything going on.

The ending gave us a great twist to the story with the introduction of Zombie Thanos who to be honest left me with so many questions with the last infinity stone coming to him what kind of thing would he want with his snap??? Hopefully we see more of this universe in season 2. Also, Spider-Man in this episode was voiced by Hudson Thames who gave a great Tom Holland impression and made the entire episode super wholesome.

7. Episode 1: What If… Captain Carter Were The First Avenger?

Was episode 1 awful? Hell Naw, actully I liked a lot about it from the jokes to the action sequences but when you place it against the episodes that came after, it looks a little bland like it had almost nothing new to offer except well Captain Carter.

Another thing I thought was pretty funny about this episode is how Tony Stark’s Iron Man may not end up existing in that universe since Steve Rogers already has the Mach 1 iron Man suit. The episode wasn’t awful but I didn’t like it that much.

8. Episode 3: What If… The World lost It’s Mightiest Heroes?

The story in this episode was good but it was not as good as all the other episodes, I mean it did make me kind of happy while watching but overall the story was not super good.

The voice acting was great too, it was cool hearing and watching that Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston interaction, fun times innit?

9. Episode 7: What If… Thor Were An Only Child

Episode 7 was actually pretty funny and bringing back some of our favourite characters from the Thor movies made it that much funnier because they are pretty cool, the reason why this episode is so low is because of how much of a change in tone it is and because well this was never really anything I ever wondered to be honest.

Episode 7 was a very much comedy focused episode, unlike the other episodes it was not super serious just wholesome and funny but God Damn that Thor Vs. Captain Marvel fight was TOP TIER and pretty funny.

Conclusion

Marvel’s What If…? series was pretty great and although the animation style wasn’t the best we’ve seen in this year, the series was able to redeem itself by having top notch stories that were action packed, funny and with great voice acting. This series truly is my favorite Marvel Series out of the 3 and continues to show that Marvel never Misses.
